In the hills of Byron Bay amongst music and laughter, the Zest Byron Bay team hand produce a beautiful range of spice pastes and recipe blends that are simple, easy to use and full of colourful aromatic flavours. Using only quality ingredients for optimum flavour, their vibrant earthy tones will turn any dish into a sensory feast with their rich yet subtle qualities suitable for all palettes and cooking styles to enjoy.

Together we create small batch production to ensure you get the best flavour every time. We use local fresh ingredients where available and work alongside local businesses, reputable distributors and retail outlets that specialise in quality products for their flavour loving customers.

Our entire range is gluten free, dairy free, vegan and has no added sugar.

Our Story

The Byron Shire, a place where, from humble dreams, creative lives flow …

All good things start small, and the Zest Byron Bay range of flavours with Nepalese origins started at Bay Seafoods in Byron Bay. Living in a small regional area sometimes means you discover abilities and create your own opportunities.

We took the leap of faith and bought the business around 2009. Pob was working as a private health chef with a strong understanding of ingredients, flavour balance and health benefits. With a young son, we took our time rebranding and selling the flavours at local Byron Shire Markets.

The feedback from our local customers inspired us to extend the Zest flavour range to cater to people who don’t have time, but love food and enjoy cooking as long as it’s easy and tasty.

Today we now have thirteen flavours in our range. Nine beautiful recipe blends as well as the four original spice pastes, all based on traditional recipes full of flavour, perfectly suited to the Australian palette, yet easy to use.

All of our Zest flavours are perfect for food lovers, anyone who is gluten intolerant, vegetarians and vegans, as they simply provide flavour that anyone can play with and enjoy.

As the Zest Byron Bay range has grown and developed so have we as a family. We are blessed to live this wonderful life and are delighted to bring you flavours that you and your family can enjoy.
